After we have been justified by our faith in Jesus, the enemy is going to come after us and our destiny to prevent us from getting into our rightful position. Truth be known he always has been causing us harm, we have just not been awakened to the spiritual battle that is going on all around us.
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8 ESV).
The enemy knows he has lost our souls for all of eternity, but he also knows while we are still here on this earth he has access to mess with our life and he uses that to rob us of our joy and cause us to doubt in God's goodness. He also uses this to get us to a place where we forfeit our destiny because of sin, distractions, & lies we have fallen for.
The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (Proverbs 3:5 ESV).
In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2 NIV).
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9 NIV).
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval (Romans 14:17 NIV).
On the front end of this, this probably sounds scary, but on the back end of this we will rejoice because of what it produced in us and what it did for us. Rest in knowing it's all a part of the process and that no matter what happens, God is right there with us. Getting us ready for all that He predestined us for and He promises that He will never leave us or forsake us and that we can count on Him to stick closer than anyone, and He will be fighting for us to come out the other side of what we are facing.
He is so good!
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we b boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we c also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.(Romans 5: 1-5 ESV).
Prayer
Father, thank you for sending Jesus to justify us and bringing us back into relationship with you. You knew that without your love that we didn’t stand a chance against the enemy and his lies. Thank you Lord for letting us know that while satan will do whatever it takes to prevent us from getting into position, the hope we have in you will not let us down. You will come to us and make known to us your love, pouring it out into our old hardened hearts, giving us a new heart that is sensitive to your will/way so that we can gain the victory. In Jesus name, I pray! Amen!
Have you been saved?
If you are someone who has not been saved. I would like to ask you, do you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead? If you believe that then declare openly with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. If you do these things, then you are, in fact, saved, and I would like to welcome you to the body of Christ.
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
